Speaker: Cameron Carty
Presentation: "Global Market Outlook"


Cameron Carty brings a diverse background of financial industry experience in managing client relationships and providing financial guidance to both professional investors and high net worth individuals. As a T. Rowe Price Regional Investment Consultant, Cameron manages relationships with professional investors in the Southeast Broker/Dealer Market, providing guidance in capital markets, investment solutions, and financial advisory practice management.

 

Cameron began his career as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Atlanta, Georgia where he worked with affluent families in providing comprehensive wealth management advice. Prior to joining T. Rowe Price, Cameron was a Financial Consultant with Fidelity Investments where he managed relationships and provided comprehensive financial guidance to a book of 300 client households and over $300M in assets.

 

Cameron graduated from Clemson University in 2007 with a B.S. in Financial Management. He also holds the Certified Financial PlannerTM CFP® designation and is a Chartered Financial Analyst, CFA Charter Holder.

U of M Spring Internship Fair

 

2017 Fogelman College of Business & Economics Internship Fair

Some of our members attended the Internship Fair and spoke with students about our profession. Many of our members have had success in the past with finding great internship candidates, and we hope to continue this success by participating in future Internship fairs.

2017 FPA of Tennessee Advocacy Day!

 

Building awareness of FPA with state legislators

Members of our chapter joined together in Nashville to help build awareness of FPA with state legislators at our 2017 FPA of Tennessee Advocacy Day! We showed our elected officials that we can serve as a resource to them when it comes to financial issues and legislation, and help build our relationships with those who make decisions that affect our profession, and our clients.

Chris Jenkins

"Building Retirement Portfolios That Seek Greater Wealth and Lower Risk"

Combining professional with active investing has helped investors get better-than-average returns. Chris Jenkins, Vice President with American Funds will discuss a new study with findings that have helped improve retirement outcomes. This presentation has been approved for 1 CE credit hour.

​Chris Jenkins is a wholesaler at American Funds, part of Capital Group, covering Tennessee. He has 21 years of investment industry experience and has been with Capital Group for six years. Prior to joining Capital Chris was a vice president at Franklin Templeton Investments. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Memphis. He also holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation, is a member of the Financial Planning Association, and is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association, where he serves on the editorial advisory board. Chris is based in Franklin, Tennessee where he lives with his wife and five children.

Ann Clifton

"Social Security 101"

Ann joined the Social Security Administration in 1996. She has worked in a field office as both a technician and a member of the management team. She has worked in the Atlanta Regional Office and Southeastern Program Service Center as a Labor and Management Relations Expert and as a Technical Assistant in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Operations at Social Security's headquarters in Baltimore, MD.

Currently, Ann is a Public Affairs Specialist for the Office of Communications in Social Security's headquarters based in Memphis, TN. As a Public Affairs Specialist, she manages the Public Information and Education Program for the Memphis area. She educates the American public through outreach education and media events, including social media. This outreach provides information as needed and requested to the media, executives, other employees and the general public regarding Social Security issues and policies.
